For over 40 years Possum has designed and supplied a range of products to enhance the independence and quality of life for people with special needs.

In June 2000 Cambridge Adaptive Communication (now incorporated as Possum AAC division) and Gewa (UK) Ltd merged activities with Possum Controls Ltd to create an exciting new force in the field of Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT). The new organisation combines Possum’s leading position in environmental control systems, including innovative Research and Development, excellent support and nationwide service, with Cambridge’s enthusiasm and knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and Gewa’s well respected and complimentary range of environmental control equipment.

With advances in technology many people can now benefit from integrating AAC and Environmental Control Systems (ECS). For example a single input switch can control the Possum Companion to provide full ECS and also control a Messagemate or Cameleon communication aid as well as providing remote control of a computer keyboard and mouse, three possibilities in one!
