The Cameleon is an effective powerful voice output communication
aid, computer and controller. It is a computer-based communication aid that runs
Windows and is designed primarily for use by people with communication
impairments to help them meet their potential for communication, computer
access, literacy and environmental control.
Like all Cameleons it can offer differing levels of
communication, from simple messages to complex sentences, using symbols, text or
both to speak. The Cameleon is tough enough to be used in demanding environments
and its generous sound output makes it loud enough to be heard in a noisy room.
It is designed to be fitted to a desk stand or to be wheelchair mounted.

With its large, bright clear screen the Cameleon crisply displays symbols from a
range of different communication libraries and languages. It can also display
pictures from digital cameras and other sources. Software is available that uses
symbols from PCS, Rebus, Bliss and a wide range of other symbol sets for
communication, literacy and computer access.
The Cameleon is powered from its own internal batteries, but can
also be powered by the mains, an external battery pack or an electric wheelchair
battery. The Cameleon can be used with any of the software or vocabularies shown
in this catalogue. The input methods vary with the software you choose but
include: mouse, keyboard, switch, switch joystick, joystick, head pointer,
touch screen and more. The Cameleon has an internal environmental control and so
can be used to control any of the Infra Red devices shown in the Environmental
control section of this site.
