 This is a vocabulary,
which grows with the developing child and can be reduced or expanded according
to the child’s physical ability and developmental language level.
It is designed to incorporate any alternative system that a
child may already be using e.g. Rebus Symbols, Picture Communication Symbols
(PCS), Bliss symbols, text, pictures or even photographs.
The system is based on the structuring of "20 questions"
requiring "yes" answers. The vocabulary is organised into categories that are
sub-divided into "topics" and then "key words". To aid recognition and assist
access the system is colour coded and numbered.
The system is flexible enough to enable use of single words,
whole phrases or sentence building, however it is important to remember that the
CCS will need to be tailored to each user.
