of different technologies which will enable them to control additional
aspects of their lives. A typical centre will allow people with differing
abilities to prepare for their future by gaining experience and practising
key independent living skills.

the same single switch to drive a wheelchair to a telephone, dial a number
via an Environmental Control System, hold a private phone conversation
using a communication aid and finally write a letter about the
conversation on a computer.
