Symbol for Windows is designed to support communication and
learning using symbols. Each programme in this coherent set of applications can
give access to multiple symbolic libraries. This flexible approach to
communication and development means that as the needs of the facilitator or user
grow you can easily integrate new symbol sets or applications into your existing
situation.
Every symbol, image or photo in a Symbol for Windows library is
linked to a unique concept. These concepts are organised within a standard
category structure. The same concept list and category structure is used in all
applications, so that whether you are using PCS, Rebus, Bliss or another
symbolic system then the same concept will always find the same symbol. This
library structure allows swift customisation of vocabularies.
Various symbol sets such as PCS, Rebus, Bliss, Picture This &
Pictograms are available to work with each of the Symbol for Windows modules.
