Supplier of electronic equipment for disabled people has a vacancy for an Electronics Assembler
Established in 1961, Possum Limited is a privately owned company and is the largest supplier of environmental control systems to the National Health Service and Social Services in the UK.
Due to company growth and expansion a new position is available to the right candidate. Possum is looking to recruit an Electronics Assembler reporting to the Purchasing Manager and working with a small team of electronics engineers.
Duties will include:
• assembly and re-work of electronic products
• inspection and testing of electronic products
• undertake other stores duties as required by the Purchasing Manager
The individual should:
• possess excellent soldering, wiring and assembly skills and have an eye for detail
• be able to work unsupervised after a period of training
• have a good understanding of PC functionality and be comfortable using a PC on a daily basis – more specifically Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• be reliable, conscientious and trustworthy
• work to a high degree of accuracy with an attention to detail
• have good interpersonal skills in dealing with other members of staff across different functions within the organisation
This is an active role and requires a reasonable level of fitness and manual handling skills.
Qualifications required: A minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C or above. Mathematics, Physics and English is preferred. Applicants with suitable vocational or skills based courses such as City and Guilds / National Certificates / NVQs, etc, will also be considered.
Training will be provided on proprietary software packages.
Working hours: 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday with a 1 hour lunch break between 12 noon and 2pm. 37.5 hours per week.
Salary range (subject to experience): £17,500 – £18,500 per annum.
Package includes: Private healthcare cover, death in service, company pension matching up to 5% of salary, 22 days holiday rising to 25 with service.
