Lifeways Wigan Respite Service offers residential respite care for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health, Acquired Brain Injury, Complex needs and Physical Disabilities.

Lifeways Wigan Respite Service needed a flexible Nursecall system with the capability to not only raise manually activated room unit alarms but also one that could be integrated with Technology Enabled Care equipment, such as Epilepsy seizure and occupancy solutions.

The Possum system installed greatly improves the safety and security of the clients served by Lifeways Wigan Respite Service and improves their quality of life by maintaining their personal dignity.

The Possum system provides greater independence and increased quality of life, giving the reassurance that if assistance is required it can be called for using either manual triggers or automatically in the event of seizure activity.

The installed system allows care staff to monitor the well being of the respite centre residents with the minimum amount of carer intervention. It also provides a cost effective solution rather than the direct one to one manpower solutions previously adopted.
